Over the past 25 years, Brooks Rorke's professional practice has included both corporate and private consulting environments. He's collaborated with a wide variety of designers and industry leading product development teams to develop dozens of products for well known brands and up and coming innovators. Brooks' designs have led to over 50 unique design patents, and has garnered design industry recognition and awards.

Brooks' industry experience has included designs for housewares, office furnishings, lighting, desk accessories and supplies, personal computers, consumer electronics, kitchenware and small appliances, air purification and heating/cooling equipment, and audio equipment and accessories for such leading brands as Tupperware, Dell, HP, Sunbeam, Oster, The Knoll Group, Levenger, Bose, and XM Satellite Radio.

Prior to establishing Rorke Design, Brooks served as Design Manager for Tupperware Worldwide Design Center where he coordinated design efforts in Belgium, Asia and the Americas. Earlier corporate design positions included Project Manager/Senior Designer for Compaq Presario Products, and Senior Industrial Designer for Black & Decker Household Products Group. Design recognition includes a 2002 IF International Forum Design Award (Hanover, Germany), for the 2002 Chef Series Professional Grade Forged Knife Collection from Tupperware. This knife collection is currently on display at the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design where it is part of the Good Design Award Collection. Other accolades include Bronze and Gold Industrial Design Excellence Awards for Black and Decker products, both featured in Business Week Magazine, a First Place award from the Excellence in Design Competition, featured in Appliance Manufacturer Magazine, and a Gold Industrial Design Excellence Award for the KnollExtra Orchestra Lamp, (with John Rizzi) also featured in Business Week Magazine.

XM Satellite Radio

We worked with XM Radio to refine this design for the world's first satellite boom box radio.

We provided 3D surface modeling for CNC appearance models and made detail refinements to the front interface bezel in preparation for production.

Levenger

The Ibis magnifier from Levenger is a lightweight design with a pivoting handle to be used at any angle, whether right or left handed.

The handle is ratcheted to collapse for storage, featuring a soft rubber touchpoint to provide stability during use.
